Trivia/Statistics
  • There are 3 rookie teams in the field. (4487, 4523, 4612).
  • 6 States are represented (Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Missouri, Oregon).
  • The Inagural Oklahoma Regional (2008) was won by teams 1806, 2165, and 2354.
  • Team 935 has won the most Oklahoma Regionals (2).
  • 2009 is the only year that the winning alliance did not contain at least one team that competed in the Greater Kansas City Regional the same year.
  • As of this moment there are 3 teams that have won previous regionals this year, 1986 (2), 1806, and 3931. This means it's technically possible for the entire finalist alliance to qualify for the World Championship without winning the regional. However, this is highly unlikely.
  • There's not only one, but two (count them) teams that have chosen the name S.W.A.T.

Hey, I think I've seen those other two regional winners somewhere before.

This will be our first time at the Oklahoma City Regional. We've heard great things about the event and can't wait to make some new friends (and get reacquainted with some old ones).

We know that many will be competing in their first event this year. We have some excellent students who can help troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and LabView issues. If we can be of any assistance stop on by our pit.

We're also quite grateful that the regional has a webcast. Our families and friends not traveling with us really appreciate it. http://botsnlinux.net/okcregional/

Re: 2013 Oklahoma Regional

This is a great regional. Up Next enjoyed this regional a lot last year and would have loved to make a repeat visit, but we didn't want to travel over the Easter weekend. Be sure to take a walk or trolly to the Bricktown Area. There are many great restaurants and a really cool riverwalk. It reminded me of San Antonio meets the Country Club Plaza.

Best of luck to all the teams attending. We will be watching from home and scouting to prepare for Razorback next weekend!

70 degree temps for the event! Our "go-south" strategy is paying off.

Considering it's 32 degrees here right now, I can't wait to get to Oklahoma.

They tried in match 1 and had a problem with their extension arm after level 2, so I think it is.

Videos of most of the matches are listed at http://botsnlinux.net/okcregional/videolist.php I'm uploading videos within 5-10 minutes of the match being played.

I've also got video of all the Saturday awards. PM me if you want it for a team video or such.

Re: 2013 Oklahoma Regional

A huge thanks goes out to 1986 we've made a great pair so far and maybe we'll get lucky enough to see each other again at worlds, and to team 2389 for their ability to play some of the best defense I've seen yet!

In case anyone missed it here is a link to the regionals highest scoring match 225-78.
