79 already won the Orlando Regional, and 379 already won the Queen City Regional. That means that the finalist alliance captain (2415) and first pick (116) get wild card invitations to the Championships. That takes away the sting a bit...

I'm a little rusty on the rules about the wildcard spots, but 2415 already has a championship spot with their Engineering Inspiration award at P'tree. Does this mean that their next team receives that invite?
