2013 Buckeye Regional Thank You

Thank you to Team 639 for your last second decision to pick us. I hope we did not disappoint you. Not too many second round picks score around 60 points a match in the elimination rounds.

Somebody on your scouting team was paying attention on Saturday. I know many teams make a preliminary list of top teams to pick from Friday night and then adjust those teams up and down based on Saturday morning matches. We had a number of issues with our robot all day Friday including breaking and twisting our shooter frame after hitting the pyramiad because it was not lowered enough. We ended up 3-4 and ranked about 40 something at that point. Our OPR at that point was around 7. I would not have picked a team like that myself.

We fixed all the issues Friday evening after our last match before the pit closed. When I looked at our remaining matches on Saturday, none of them would be close based on the OPR predictions. We were going to win the first one and lose the last two. But our drive team refused to give up. They were on fire, winning all three matches and ended up ranking 13 with OPR of around 25. They were scoring around 50 to 60 points per match on Saturday.

Team 2252, you guys were awesome. Your robot is a scoring machine. Without your 5 disc autonomous, we probably would not have made it through semifinal. We coordinated our offense very well without getting in each other's way.

Team 639, you did a great job in pre-match strategy, and coordinating in detail where every robot goes in auto, teleop and end game. Your scouting team did a great job, picking two good scoring robots to complement yours. I still cannot believe we scored 150 points together in the last match, considering our highest match score in our two previous events were 89.

We will be attending Michigan State Championship and then go to St. Louis. See you guys there.
