Can the first rule be no more dubstep?

or "1. No copyright material. Original works only." will do nicely.

Re: FRC Blogged - Community Awards, the Deans List Finalist that Got Away, & Season O

Hey hey, only 12 of the videos in the Top25 release reel had dub step... 14 had blinky lights. Interestingly, there doesn't appear to be any sort of correlation between these two things either.

Let's pretend I DONT have a spreadsheet that tracked that... I probably need to get a hobby that doesn't involve FIRST.

Re: FRC Blogged - Community Awards, the Deans List Finalist that Got Away, & Season O

I think the community awards should include some sort of community Chairman's award. It would be interesting to see who non-FIRST judges would choose.

Also, the only original music idea will result in a lot of silent videos.

118 would win that every year. I think it would be better to have a "2nd best reveal video' competition.

Re: FRC Blogged - Community Awards, the Deans List Finalist that Got Away, & Season O

Could do robot of the year, possibly in several categories(best shooter, best climber, best noodlebot ). No wait, I got it. Someone host "The Woodies" and give out various awards. Could narrow it down to a few nominees for each and then have online voting for the winners.

Re: FRC Blogged - Community Awards, the Deans List Finalist that Got Away, & Season O

An award that we've jokingly discussed on my team is the "Gum & Duct Tape Award", which is presented to the best-performing, scrappiest-looking robot - that one robot that looks like it's held together by zip ties and faith but plays well. Rather than a trophy or medals, winning team would receive a roll of duct tape and a pack of gum.

I can get behind this idea. There's a lot of awesome things that happen in FIRST that go unrecognized.

Dear Looking Forward,

If any of you read this, pretty-pretty-please-with-sugar-gumdrops-moar-sugar-whipped-cream-and-a-cherry-on-top, do some sort of awards!!!!!

It would be like the academy awards vs people's choice awards!!!
