Re: Pit Management

My team has a dedicated pit crew who are always in the pits and then a few people who will filter in and out depending on availability. The main pit crew includes:

The drive team, who also act as our head mechanical and electrical guys.
One of our head programmers, this year this was myself.
Our Chairman's team.

All of the people in the pits are knowledgeable enough about every aspect of the team to talk confidently with judges, and we usually try to bounce answers off of each other to play on each other's strengths. Myself and one of our Chairman's presenters stayed behind in the pits during matches in case judges came by.

Re: Pit Management

Ours is pretty simple, if we are working on something or an emergency happens with the robot then the people who need to fix the issue are in the pits, along with a mentor or two. Usually during the other times we would have a safety person, some of the drive team is usually in there, try to leep an electrical, programmer and a mechanical person in or near the pits. Lastly if we have chairman's then we have a few people staying at the pits for that.

And if you are in the pits and not needed and the pits are crowded we kick you out. The worst is when something goes weong on the field and we come back to the pits, and everyone from the stands comes down to find out what happened whole we're trying to fix it, then we tell them to leave.
