Call for Volunteers

Everyone,
Champs is coming up in a few weeks and volunteer positions may still be open. If you are planning to come to St. Louis and would consider working as a volunteer, check or sign in on VIMS on the FIRST Website. I still need some inspectors for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. If you have inspected this year, passed the inspection test and are coming to St. Louis, please sign up on VIMS. I still need about ten people for those two days. If your team can be without for that time, please consider helping out. My goal is to get every team inspected by the first match on Thursday.
Thanks,
Al

Count me in!

I'm having trouble logging into VIMS right now, could be because I'm in Nicaragua ATM... I'll try again in a few days.

Re: Call for Volunteers

I checked VIMS; it still has me correctly listed as inspecting. So unfortunately, I can't add to your list. But I will be there Wednesday well before the pits open. And as much of the rest of the week as needed.

Re: Call for Volunteers

I figured I'd ask the question here, since I don't want to start a whole new thread on it.

I've never volunteered at Championships, but I might this year, and I don't know how it works. If you're affiliated with a team that is competing and you volunteer, are you assigned to the same division as your team? Or is it random?

If you are an inspector, referee, or scorekeeper, you cannot do anything involving your affiliated teams, but you could still be working in the same division.

Re: Call for Volunteers

As an inspector, I assume you need to be near your team as a chaperone. I will be in the division that my team is in, if possible with the needs of the other LRIs.
However, you may not inspect your team, a team you have been on in the past or have some affiliation with. I won't even inspect teams who I feel I can't be objective with. FRC and I are very serious about this policy. Everyone needs to know that their inspector has no prejudice for them or another team.

Al, do you need more inspectors? We have 3 experienced inspectors coming and I will inform the others to sign up on VIMS if so.
