Go to Post Ultrasonic sensors will allow you to do fundamentally the same thing that the bump sensors do...so you can slow down and smoothly stop your robot just before it reaches the end wall, instead of running into it at full speed and then figuring out "ohh! there is a wall there!" - dlavery [more]

This is going viral amongst some FRC people on Facebook. Couldn't find it here via search, so I thought I'd bring it back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LljVL7w30zk

Re: Must Be Robot Season

Slightly off topic but, Why did Simbotics come all the way to the Midwest regional in 2009-2010?

It was 2008 and 2009 (that I remember) but if you listen to the EWCPcast with them it was because at the time they liked to get down to the US for a closeish, competitive regional (GLR and Midwest were/are great for that).

1114 traveled to an American regional every year, up until 2012 (excluding 2005). Here's a list of the American regionals they attended:

Pittsburgh: 2003, 2004, 2010, 2011
SBPLI Long Island: 2004 (this was their first regional win and blue banner)
Great Lakes: 2006, 2007
Midwest: 2008, 2009

For the last 2 years, they have stayed in Canada, but they have also played three Canadian events both years.
