Is there anything you guys think that makes this illegal?
That is something that has been explored in this thread

You have good memory and a good eye. Our blocker is exactly 80" tall when deployed. When stowed away, our robot can go under the pyramid. We used it effectively against tall FCS where 60" tall robots cannot block. We also do not need to be too close to the FCS so we don't get penalties.

Metal Moose, 1391, has an awesome blocker. Extendable netting as wide as their frame provides something that is very, very hard to shoot around.

Re: Best full court shooter blockers

In Kansas City we decided our best bet was to try to block 1806 with our 30 point climbing arm attempt.
This turned out quite well, blocking an estimated 13 Frisbees!

Re: Best full court shooter blockers

We can use the back of our robot 60" or put our shooting arm up to 83"

Re: Best full court shooter blockers

We did not block because we were a shooting team... however, at 10K lakes we brought block tech with use to mount on alliance members' robot for the elims... It was pretty effective until their drive train threw a chain...

We mounted a fan with a Mini CIM to their bot... We didn't end up facing any full court shooters so it could not be utilized fully...

It worked well..

I can't find a video of our Semi Finals matches... but that is where it worked best...

Re: Best full court shooter blockers

Just to help my students with a little advertising =)

Team 1967 the Janksters came up with a pretty effective blocker and was the defensive robot for the winning SVR alliance.

We'll be at championship at archimedes in 5 days!

I agree, 1511 did a quite good job. They also had the added feature that their blocker was built into their robot and quite robust. Other teams (1100, in particular) had a problem with the err...reliability so to speak of their blocker. I do not have a match video but I will post it as soon as I find it.
