Re: AP Physics B Review at 2013 Championships

Could we start a Physics C review as well? I'm self-studying for the exam since my school doesn't have an AP Physics class, and I'd love any help I can get reviewing for the exam.

I do not know where to say at this point. We had requested a location or room from FIRST but never got a response.

Do you have a suggestion for a way for us to find a room or location.
If not, we will post information in our pit (2468).

Can we get a room to use for the tutoring. We are thinking on Friday at lunch? Do you know who else to talk to about this?

Sorry. I have no suggestions. I'm pretty sure that every room in the place has a rental fee attached and involves reservations with the event managers. The spaces have been planned out for quite some time. For example, NEMO has a room for 2 hours on Friday, but we have a sponsor and got on the master schedule a couple of months ago.

At this late date, it is going to be very difficult to communicate about this. Everyone is pretty busy.

Good luck.

I will direct people to your pit if any questions come into information booth.

Thanks RoboMom

We will get information to the information booth as well when we get there and scout a location. Maybe we can use a lobby area upstairs away from the crowds.

Thanks,

Norman

If you find a location, please write down - where and exactly when and what is involved - and give it to the friendly people in the info booth outside the pits.

Team 4265 also has a AP Physics B teacher willing to help, come by our pit and ask for a Dr. Perkins.

I will be there early on Wednesday morning. I will scout a location and let you know as soon as we determine it.

We will also post in 2468's pit.

Re: AP Physics B Review at 2013 Championships

This is Ed Hershey, I'm a mentor with Team 1781. I have one Physics B student and 1 Physics C student, and I'm the AP physics teacher. I'd like to be kept informed about these sessions, and I can also help with instruction.

My e-mail is: efhershey@cps.edu

Please let us know about the when and where of these sessions.

Re: AP Physics B Review at 2013 Championships

I suggest that with enough teachers around, we can each pick a topic ( or two) and establish a time for that topic to be reviewed.

For example, I would be able to review Diffraction & interference, Thin-film interference, & wave-particle (photelectric, Compton, Davisson-Germer, etc);
Thursday PM, from 2 to 4 (still just an example).

A common meeting room would still be best for this, but if students knew when a particular subject was to be reviewed, they could target that time, and if more than one student needed to review that topic, this would make that review more efficient.

And if I knew I was reviewing diffraction, I can bring my green laser and some diffraction plates!
