Why Is Everyone So Sensitive About BB?

Granted, I'm not the biggest fan of BB but I can respect other people's opinions. But recently many people have gotten edgy when it comes to some people saying "Battle Bots isn't that great" or "BB ruined robotics competitons".

So as a truce: DON'T EVER AGAIN BRING UP BB! NO ROBO WARS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT!!

Just drop it!

Thank you

*steps off soap box*

Harrison has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I think that post is kinda hypocritical (I hadn't seen too many BB posts recently until this one).

But, anywho, I respect BB for the technical creation aspect. Whether a robots goal is to destroy, as is the case with BB, or to build stacks of boxes (like us this year) - It does take a great deal of time, effort, money, and skill to build the machines.

Personally, I think the object to FIRST is better than the objective of BB (FIRST is to inspire, educate, etc....Where BB is basically just to entertain). But, both are legitimate Robotics competitions, and I respect them each - just for different reasons.

As I always say, FIRST is to olympic wrestling as Battlebots is to the WWE. I enjoy FIRST and olympic wrestling for the professionalist qualities, and Battlebots (which I haven't watched in ages as of me writing this) and WWE for the entertainment values. Then, there's Kurt Angle and Mr. B. who throw things off a bit in this anologious enigma. All these factors make a robot nerd's life all the more interesting.
