FIRST Making it TOO Loud
In the dome at champs, and now especially on Einstein, the music and the game sounds are way too loud! When the music plays I can't hear the person next to me, and when the buzzer went off during the practice match, I could actually hear my eardrums breaking. Please, if your near the field, ask them to turn it down!
Also, how bout them Killer-Guerrillas-Mayhem! |

Re: FIRST Making it TOO Loud
At our Galileo feild most of the time we couldnt hear anything that they were saying or the music. I dont know if this was the same for you but this is not currtently.

Re: FIRST Making it TOO Loud
It might just be the in the nosebleed section but it's uncomfortable loud up here. The speeches are at a great volume, it's just the music and match sound effects.

Re: FIRST Making it TOO Loud
I'm also in nose bleed. It was too quiet to hear most guest speakers and especially Dean...

Re: FIRST Making it TOO Loud
There were some points where the music on galileo was way too loud, but I think it was that particular song. After that, it went back to being regular-too-loud.
I understand the desire for loud music, but it does get unreasonable at times and some events. Last edited by DjScribbles : 27-04-2013 at 22:41. |

Re: FIRST Making it TOO Loud
It might just be me but I enjoy being able to hear the crowd, maybe even the sound of robots on the field every now and then. I understand having mushc to add emptional effect, but I couldn't even hear the person next to me. I wish I brought my decibel reader, an app on my phone (which I know is inaccurate and maxes at 110) showed an average of 95 decibels in the stands.

Re: FIRST Making it TOO Loud
As a drive coach, I'd worry about drivers hearing each other.
As a general statement: please turn down the music. Almost no one's here for the music. They're here for the robots. |

Re: FIRST Making it TOO Loud
From the sound board it seemed fine. Louder than a typical regional but not nearly as loud as a rock concert. I've been to technical conferences with keynotes louder than this.
That said, I'm sure the sound does some strange things in the dome and it is possible that it may be a lot louder in certain spots. |

Re: FIRST Making it TOO Loud
Actually the field wasn't bad at all. I suspect it was the acoustics of the dome, because we were pretty happy hearing each other on Newton at least.

Re: FIRST Making it TOO Loud
It truly does depend on location. On the fields you can communicate much easier than you can in the stands. The speakers are directed towards the stands. From center of the field on Archimedes to the edge of the seating there was a drastic difference in volume levels. That being said, you have to remember that sound travels in waves, and has the potential to amplify as the waves reach the higher levels due to the construction of the speakers and the stadium.
