Re: Congratulations to the newest HoF Team, Team 1538: The Holy Cows!

Congratulations to Team 1538, The Holy Cows as the newest member of the FIRST Hall of Fame!

Well deserved and representative of FIRST.
With so many great RCA winners out there, it's quite an accomplishment.

Too bad once again (ours in 2011), it was never shown on the biggest stage of the year!
With so much dead time, one would think it was a no-brainer.

When I saw 1538's chairman's award video at the San Diego regional, I thought to myself "That looks like a Championship award winning video". Congratulations!

Re: Congratulations to the newest HoF Team, Team 1538: The Holy Cows!

Words cannot do this weekend justice. It is both an honor and humbling to be listed along side teams that have inspired our own team since we started in the Fall of 2004.

We were quite disappointed our video wasn't shown. We put a lot of work into our video this year and were excited to have it shown on the big stage. We will be putting it up on YouTube sometime this week so keep an eye out for it. We will also be releasing our submission and executive summary sometime this week as well.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years. You helped make this achievement possible.

-Jon

Re: Congratulations to the newest HoF Team, Team 1538: The Holy Cows!

Over the past nine years, The Holy Cows have transformed FIRST in the San Diego area and beyond. They have helped grow FIRST at every level, while developing links within their community to further FIRST’s mission. They have expended significant effort to ensure the San Diego teams have the tools they need to succeed, running large workshops, providing a mobile machine shop, and creating a robotics center where teams can work and practice.

Their impact has not just been limited to San Diego, the resources they have created have spread across the entire FIRST community. Their scouting program “CowScout” has allowed 260 FRC teams to effectively collaborate and share information about their teams. The program is nothing short of revolutionary. This is just one example of the amazing programs created by The Cows.

Team 1114 has had the opportunity to work with and learn from Team 1538 since 2009. In that time I am always astounded by the professionalism exhibited by all team members, from the students to the mentors to the parents. On Thursday, myself and one of the Team 1114 Allaire medalists from last year, Brittany Shaw, had the opportunity to watch their Chairman's presentation. I was simply blown away; it was easily one of the best presentations I have ever seen. Professional, dynamic, effective and fun.

Their team is a partnership of multiple organizations, that are unified by an unbridled passion to fulfill the mission of FIRST. Through the astounding and diverse resources they provide the entire FIRST community, and their constant gracious professional while striving to change culture, it is clear that The Holy Cows are the epitome of the goals and mission of FIRST.

Team 1114, Simbotics, would like to enthusiastically congratulate and welcome Team 1538, The Holy Cows, into the FIRST Hall of Fame as the 2013 Championship Chairman’s Award winner.

Congratulations! The quality of your organization and its impact on your community is obvious from every interaction I have ever had with you.

Just before the announcement, I asked our head mentor and media mentor who they thought would win, and they both said "1538". I can't wait to see the video!

You ain't kidding!

Robotics in the Inland Empire would not exist without the Holy Cows. We are now up to 45+ FLL, 15 FTC, 17 FRC teams, 2 FLL qualifiers, 1 FTC qualifier and an FRC Regional. And the herd continues to grow....

Re: Congratulations to the newest HoF Team, Team 1538: The Holy Cows!

Congratulations Holy Cows on your Chairman's Award.

I felt that FIRST did us all a disservice when they did not go more in depth into your accomplishments and did not show your video. You should have been recognized more for what you have done. The rest of us missed out as well. As a team that FIRST has said is the team to be an example for the rest of us, very little was given as to what that example is.

I also want to recognize how much fun we had with you on that last match on Newton. You were great to work with and I personally enjoyed spending time on the field with you.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to workiing with you again in the future.

Congratulations,
Craig
