Parameter help

I'm working on a part and created a bunch of parameters that I would like to use in other parts of my assembly. How do I export the parameters to other models? All the tutorials I have seen have not been very helpful.

Re: Parameter help

I can't speak for Inventor but for Solidworks you can have a text file with parameters and equations and then link models to that file (Open the equations dialog, select Link to External File, and then select the text file with your equations and variables).

Re: Parameter help

In Inventor, you can use an Excel file with a list of parameter names and values. These can be linked into each part/assembly through the Parameters menu under the Manage tab. Another more tedious method is to link to the parameters from another Inventor file (ipt, iam, etc), which can be done the same way.
