11's Monty Madness trophy

During auto 11 crossed the field and got themselves stuck vertically on the pyramid. Upon landing they were dragging a mini cim. This was the aftermath.

I might add that they continued to drag that CIM for the entire rest of the match, once getting it stuck on a frisbee, and played some pretty respectable defense for all that! Way to go, MORT.

The autonomous crossing was terrifying, though. Full speed at the opposing pyramid corner!

Worth noting it still worked with just a little run-out in the shaft. Indestructible CIMs are indestructible.

Re: 11's Monty Madness trophy

It was actually a CIM motor not a miniCIM, just to get all the details correct.

Its strange how proud I am of this.

I'll ask the question I'm sure everyone's dying to know-how did the rocketing across the field happen?

"Looks like MORT is dragging a motor on the floor but they just don't care!"

Greatest line I've heard all season. This is how I imagine the driver felt that match:

We didn't really look at it in depth, but for now we are pretty sure that the set screws that connect our drive encoders to our drive axles came loose. Without the encoder turning we never got any values, and so the robot just drove backwards for a "theoretically" infinite distance.

I was behind the glass that match, and when I saw the cim dragging behind us like a tail I thought that the threads on the screws had stripped or something along those lines. I never thought we actually sheared off the face plate of the cim.
