Cool Team 2485's Sun Tzu: Frisbee Trail

The W.A.R.Lords (unfortunately I couldn't make it), along with an AP Photo student from our school recently took these photographs showing the path taken by our discs. What I surmise they did is set up a camera with a very long exposure on a tripod in the gym, load some glowing discs, and let fly The results are, frankly, awesome. In a literal sense, as in awe-inspiring. Enjoy!

Wow those are some really cool photos! I'd really like to try this out with our robot but where can I get those glowing discs?

As I said, I wasn't there, so I'm not sure If I had to guess, I'd be willing to bet they're available online...

You know this might actually be useful from a gameplay perspective too, if you had some glowing reference points at known distances, you could track the arc and distribution of your shots. Could be useful for tuning a FCS?

In any case, the photos are gorgeous!

We actually took the normal white FRC disks and lined the inside with an amber led strip.

The issue is that the frisbee weighs much more than a normal frisbee because of the addition of the led strip and 4 AA batteries. Maybe this could work with a glow in the dark frisbee though!
