Exclamation use of knobs in LabVIEW?

I know this may sound stupid for those of you who are experts with labView but I really have to ask,

can a knob in labVIEW act as with the same function as a potentiometer? I mean, can I use it to provide an output voltage proportional to an angle and use it for simulating a movement of a robotic finger in Solidworks?

You see, I am really new to these softwares and any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much.

Re: use of knobs in LabVIEW?

You can use it similar to a potentiometer.

The knob translates a graphical angular value into a numerical one. It isn't necessarily a voltage, but you can define it that way if you like.

If you need to customize it, you can grab the ends of the scale using the positioning tool and move them to the physical locations you like. You can type different values in for those locations. These numerical values define the units that the knob will return.
