This isn't an advertisement for Tigerbolt. I'm sure it's a good chatroom and all, but I'm also sure that it's a rather well known chatroom here. Is it not? I made this thread to get the idea of the existence of MY chatroom out there. I figure there's a heck of a lot of people on these forums, so someone should see this and take interest.

mine does the same thing as brandon's. i've got IE6. i think it's the website

I see an advertisement for a free chatroom in the middle of all the extended-ASCII stuff. Looks like it's a word doc, or something. If you want to make a chatroom, use IRC. That's what it's there for

Well, I can get to it. However, on the link you gave me, I get some strange stuff above and below the login box. (looks like ms word or something) (But the applet window works fine)

However, a word of advice...

Most ppl do, and will continue to use Tigerbolt for FIRST chat. Unless your site has something better to offer, no one's going to change.

I set up a web site / forum (www.feds201.com) Now, i'm not going to tell everyone on CD to use my fourm over CD.

Why? - It's a waste of my time. First, my site would never be able to handle the traffic , but more real, no one would switch. CD has everything that I have (and more in some areas). So... I decided that i'd make a site that could be used as a Scouting Hub among FIRST scouters. There have been a few sites like this in the past, but (no offence to anyone) all of them lacked something. SO... I'm takeing the best ideas from all of them, along with mine, and making a really cool, useful site.

What I would recommend to you if you want people to come to your chat room is...

First, fix any problems with it. It you have two people that can't access it, then do everything you can to fix the problem. When someone can't access it, they'll go somewhere else. Trust me, when someone has problems with my site, I'll do EVERYTHING i can to see what's causing the problem.

Second, have it be used for one thing. Tigerbolt is general FIRST, find something that no one else has done, and use your chat room / rest of the site for that area.

I hope i haven't offend you - Just a few thoughts on how you could make people want to come to your site
