Team survey

My team (2230) is doing some research about the way other teams function during the building season.
I'll be glad if you will spend 2 minutes answering this survey

Re: Team survey

Fix the spelling of Budget as an answer.
You should change the last question because it is entirely too broad.
Who makes the final decision about what...design...travel..strategy...
Adults make the decision ultimately about where we travel and what competitions we attend, but we ask the student's opinions.
Students make the ultimate decision about overall strategy in relationship to what we want our robot to accomplish. The design is usually 50/50. Field strategy is 75 student 25 mentor.

Re: Team survey

Thanks for your detailed answer, we will fix the question.
As an Israeli team, we can't afford participation in more than 1 regional competition, so this aspect is going out of the equation.

Re: Team survey

I like the concept of having this survey, and I hope that you post the results (keeping teams anonymous of course) when the time comes. But you could use a lot more clarity in your questions.

For the days you work during the preseason question, you should say number of days per week.

What do you mean by: does the school support the team during the build season? Are you talking about the administration, staff, or students. What kind of support?

And for the final decision question, maybe the meaning of the question is obvious for your team, but its not for probably 95% of the teams taking this survey. For my team, the students voting have a final say in some things, the student leaders with the lead mentor decide others, and for other things its completely our lead mentor's decision. After some "events" that caused the team to become dissatisfied with the administration our school has tried to give us as much freedom as possible (and I have to say they are doing a great job at it), but if they told us that we have to build a flying robot next year (to stay above the water in the water game and keep our electronics dry, of course), we would be building a flying robot or risk losing just about everything.

Re: Team survey

2493 submitted, although some of the question were worded as if the team was associated with a school. Some of us are community teams, for better or worse

Re: Team survey

I submitted. However, I suggest changing the school-related questions. Not everyone is connected with a school.
