Connecting to the robot with 2 routers

The original 2009 KOP router was a bridge only ("Gaming Adapter"), and the KOP came with a Linksys router (I want to say WRT610N or 160N but I could be wrong). The robot 'gaming adapter' acted as a Bridge (as it does in competition now), and the other router hosted the network. The laptop could either join the network as well or connect to the router via Ethernet.

We still use that Linksys router with an ethernet cable to the laptop to avoid any confusion about which laptop should be connected to the robot, since we frequently have several laptops capable of running Driver Station open, and any number of them could have left it open. The laptops are not configured to look for the wireless '33'. It's also possible to place the router somewhere where the signal is better, but this is likely marginal.

We also have a D-link rev A (no longer legal) which we keep configured for this network setup, so we don't have to change it every time we go to competition and setup WPA.

Configuration:
-Setup the D-link robot side router to be in 'bridge' mode (move the switch to 'Bridge'), and set the SSID to your team number. We set security to none, it's easier this way. The IP of the router should already be 10.te.am.01
-Setup the router (it can be another D-link robot router or a different one) to 'AP' or 'Access Point' mode, if it supports multiple modes. Set the SSID to your team number, no security. Set the IP address to 10.te.am.04 (this was the number recommended in 09, it really dosn't matter), if you want you can set DHCP to 10.te.am.xx block starting at 100 or something.
-DON't setup your laptops to connect to the wifi network. This is kinda important.
-Use a physical ethernet cable to connect the laptop to the router.
