alas, i can not help you. if you had asked anything about the actual story, history, characters, languages, countries, etc, i could have, but by a cruel trick of fate (which involves a trip to Canada and APUS homework <~ not mine) i have only seen the movie once

ooooh, $@#$@#$@#$@#, i can't... i know the movie inside and out, the music inside and out, just not them both together... however i think it's track 12, "helm's deep". just cuz that's where it is... can't think of any other track it would be in.

Wrong!

Its the sound track named "The Hornburg". I was looking for the exact same track when I was looking for the sound track.

Who cares about the song, the elves aren't even supposed to be there, I hate when they ruin books like that

hum..

i don't know the song but i do have a response to the person that said that the elves aren't supposed to be there...
perhaps they aren't...BUT....the book isn't ruined...the movie is great and even though it's not supposed to be there it just adds to the effect of the whole movie with them being there....it's a good movie...and i'm sorry i can't help you with the song...but it just kinda irks me when people make comments like that....there's a deeper meaning behind the story and you should get that.....

at least some1 else sees the symbolism behind the story. from what ive heard it was all about world war 2. think about it. and i think the elves add nicely. the scene where they show all the longbowmen beinhd the wall shootin over it. i was flippin out. toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool.

Not WWII, but WWI. Tolkein loosely based LOtR on his experiences on his service in the first World War. In fact, he began writing The Silmarillion while he was recovering from injuries suffered in battle.

Back on topic, I was kind of ticked off when the elves showed up, too, but I was more annoyed with the way they mutilated Faramir's character-he was a much better person in the book.

Grrrr.....

J.R.R. Tolkein said himself that it was not an allegory of WWII! He said that if it were, the ring would have been used against Sauron.

But all in all, they've done a good job. However, they did not fully show the true, raw, amazing power of the Ents. "Their fingers, and their toes, just freeze on to rock; and they tear it up lik bread-crust. It was like watching the work of great tree- roots in a hundred years, all packed into a few moments."

And I did not like the fact that Arwen liked strider, nor did I like the fact that she was there at all and saved Frodo.

And of course the archers.

But everything in both movies was gorgeous. 4 grievances in 2 movies is excellent. I love those movies. I am going to have a LOTR party when all three DVDs are out. We'll serve Lembas. http://greenbooks.theonering.net/moo...060102_01.html

oh my goodness! i'm so glad someone else hated the fact that arwen had such a big part in the movies. the only part i remember in the book about arwen is where everyone is in rivendell at that big feast and Frodo notices her at the end of the table by elrond... by the way, liv tyler is SO the wrong part for arwen... she doesn't look like an elf because she has such a round face and she's so annoying.

another thing... did you guys notice how in the fellowship she said something in elvish and the river came and washed away the nazgul? thats so gay... elrond and gandalf set that up. ok. i'm done. i get a little carried away about lotr.
