Shopping Cart Wheels

Hello there, I was hoping I could get some advice. 240 is rigging up a shopping cart and we weren't 100% sure on the wheels we decided on. We came up with 8in omni wheels for the two front wheels, then 8in pneumatics for the back.

Do you have any other suggestions? This is a preseason project, so we aren't going to get anything too expensive. We have a lot of wheels lying around The cart would mainly be a transportation vehicle for heavy totes and such. Thank you for your input!

Re: Shopping Cart Wheels

We have two of these and two of the swivel version on our cart and we're very happy with them. They might be out of your price range though.

I would be worried about the omni-wheels rolling over terrain and possibly getting caught. Also the omni-wheels are going to collect a lot of hair.

I think your wheel choice will work, just may not be as convenient. You might want to think of a way to add brakes, they make the platform more useful if you ever need to work on it.

You know, I looked at the swivel + brake version and that may be just what we need!

Before you buy anything from Harbor Freight look online for a 20% or 25% off coupon, there is nearly always one. SnipSnap is an app for Android that you can search for coupons, it always seems to have a couple on there that work.
