Go to Post We found our bandsaw on Craigslist for $40. We keep looking for laser cutters and waterjets in that price range, but so far no luck. - chapman1 [more]

Window Motor Info...

Sorry for posting this here, but the answer to my question is more general knowledge related and may be able to be answered by anybody...

Who makes the window motor?

What is its model?

Where do we get more?

What is the vehicle application?

How would you go about getting more?

Thanks for your help! With our application for the motor, we might be breaking them by the dozen.

Uh oh!

The motors are made by Nippon-Denso, but I think I heard somewhere that they have long been discontinued. FIRST has said you cannot directly contact the supplier for more. The motor was donated to FIRST (probably a surplus of old parts the company had lying around) and so no more are available for purchase.

I do not know what vehicle or model they belong to. It's application is that of a power window motor; it's not exactly made for strong, robust applications.

Unfortunately, we're using it in a critical location too, but we're only going to blow out one at a time ;-)

yeah..but that motor must have been made for something (i.e. a make of vehicle). If the vehicle i still around, then the motors should be also.

Just so everyone knows, the window motors in the 2003 kit were used in the 1986-1995 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable. The left front and right rear motors are identical to each other and those provided in the kit. I hope this makes replacements a little easier to find.
