Completed:

I built my own assembly pick and place systems complete with video targeting for component placement.

The axis are linear stages from Intelligent Actuator.
I used vacuum placement.

I have 'reflow' ovens made from toaster ovens I retrofitted with digital temperature controls.

I used to wash my boards down in an old dishwasher (and no I did not drain the waste into the sewer or septic).

I had an ultrasonic golf club cleaner somewhere that was handy for some projects as well

It's only crazy if it doesn't work.

I have 2 LPKF Protomat 92S with the surface mount paste systems to make PCB as well.
Not to mention the electroplating systems and liquid etching systems (ferric chloride and sodium persulfate).
I try to keep the really nasty chemicals to a minimum.
