Almost a world record @ Rookie Rumble

Today we very nearly made history. At the inaugural Rookie Rumble (an offseason event hosted by Team 1540), the alliance of 1540, 4127, and 3711 got a combined score of 264 points-only 12 less than the record of 276 set at IRI. Not to knock IRI or anything, but it happened at a non-invitational event. Just sayin'.

The full rundown is up on our blog: http://team1540.org/blog/

Re: Almost a world record @ Rookie Rumble

It is my understanding that the record score was set on Galileo. I believe the score was 288.

Re: Almost a world record @ Rookie Rumble

I also think the highest score was on Gallileo. 288-186 in Quarter-final 1-3 (TBA 2013 insights). Your score is very impressive if you are putting up points similar to 118, 1114, and 4039. Congratulations.

"This counted as interfering with a climb, and both of the climbers were awarded 30 points--even though we both only climbed to the first level. The craziness didn't end there, though, since the offending robot then went on to contact both hanging robots--a major technical foul. This gave us 120 extra foul points."

Not to downplay your efforts, but high scores are generally interpreted without foul points added on. There are plenty of instances of high scores with a lot of foul points.

Regardless, 1540 had a really great robot this year.

Re: Almost a world record @ Rookie Rumble

What's the highest score without foul points added on? If I recall correctly, Galileo Semis 1 Match 3 had some significant climb interference. I doubt it was 120 points like in this match, though.

If only TBA had a video...

Re: Almost a world record @ Rookie Rumble

Unpenalised I think is this match at IRI (without fouls). Which is the one that you were talking about.

Highest season match (without fouls) is this one I think. Which was Semifinal 2 Match 2 on Archimedies (33,469,1519 vs. 11,254,2468) which was pretty crazy to watch from down on the field. Final score was 266-216, and I think there was only one or two fouls on red. Both 469 and 1519 started hitting their FCS shots right away, so that was a real deadly combo.

Re: Almost a world record @ Rookie Rumble

Actually, I am pretty sure THIS is the high score, one way or another:

EDIT: If we ARE including foul points:

In that match the points worked out as 3 foul points to red with 30 climb points each alliance (254 for 30 and all three red robots for 10) and the rest was all disc points.

Re: Almost a world record @ Rookie Rumble

Highest unpenalized score was 270-something in IRI semi finals when somebody decided not to block 67.
