[FTC]: Hanging Penalty?
So my team is wondering about the penalty that could incur whilst hanging.
The rule states: During the End Game, an Alliance’s Robot may not block access to the opposing Alliance Hanging Zone or interfere with an opposing Alliance’s Robot Hanging on the corresponding side of the Pull-Up Bar. If this occurs, the offending Alliance will incur a Major Penalty We know that for example you are on the blue alliance, you must hang on the blue side of the bar. Does the penalty incur if your robot swings over the line, but the hooks stay in the same place? Does this mean no part of your robot can cross the line, and if it does, and an opposing robot touches the portion of your robot on their side, is that automatically considered interference with their robot's hang? |

Re: [FTC]: Hanging Penalty?
This may be one of the rules that is truly up to judge's discretion if it was intentional or not.

Re: [FTC]: Hanging Penalty?
I recommend you post this question in the FIRST FTC Q&A.

Re: [FTC]: Hanging Penalty?
If you design a robot that you know will hang at an angle
and encroach onto the other team's space, and I am refereeing your match, I'm going to give you a penalty. That is the way I read that rule until I'm explicitly told otherwise by someone from FIRST headquarters. |
