Re: Encoders from Kit of Parts (Many Years Ago?)
I'm pretty sure it's a TTL level converter, since it's labeled as a TTL to RS-232 converter.
![]() One came with the KOP in 2005, 2006 & 2007 , search for "TTL" (see photo IF114.jpg at the end of the 2007 list). You may have been fooled by three additional pins that are recessed in a female connector at a right-angle to the male pins. Does it look like this? http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/at...1&d=1107365951 They were used in this fashion: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/at...3&d=1108318123 & http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/at...2&d=1108318117 To connect a communication line to this CMUCAM: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/at...0&d=1107365914 The 3-pin female connector attached directly to an IFI robot controller (TTL) while the 3-pin male connectors connected via PWM cable to the CMUCAM (RS-232). Re: Encoders from Kit of Parts (Many Years Ago?)
Yes, that is what it was. Thanks Mark. As someone who only dealt with Crios, IFI control systems are foreign to me. But we still have 3 "projects" that all use them, even though we don't code them anymore. Now I know they aren't sensor though (I found them in a bag with gyroscopes, accelerometers, and 2 rotary magnetic encoders. I do no understand the organization of our last electronics guy....)
