Re: How many Teams can you name?

I got to around 105, though a lot of them are numbers tied to robot descriptions or vague remembrances of teams.
I need to work on remembering names. I am terrible about that.

Just looking at this thread, I see a lot that I should know, and would throw in the list, or I would immediately recognize if I saw the bumpers/ a 2012/2013 robot on the field.

Re: How many Teams can you name?

88 teams for me. I thought that was pretty good, but after seeing some other numbers there is a lot of room for improvement...

Re: How many Teams can you name?

I see someone else was on that askreddit thread earlier too. Almost every team I know I know I know by number instead of by name, not sure if it still counts but I'll give it a shot.

8, 11, 16, 20, 25, 33, 67, 68, 71, 79, 100, 103, 111, 114, 118, 148, 190, 191, 195, 217, 223, 230, 233, 234, 254, 256, 294, 295, 303, 330, 341, 359, 399, 469, 548, 549, 604, 610, 624, 670, 846, 852, 862, 868, 967, 968, 971, 973, 987, 1114, 1241, 1310, 1323, 1334, 1338, 1477, 1503, 1538, 1540, 1640, 1662, 1671, 1676, 1678, 1679, 1684 1717, 1718, 1806, 1810, 1836, 1868, 1918, 1967, 1983, 1986, 2056, 2073, 2169, 2415, 2468, 2481, 2489, 2590, 2813, 2834, 2843, 2996, 3013, 3256, 3309, 3390, 3467, 3476, 3489, 3495, 3539, 3859, 3928, 3970, 3990, 4334, 4343, 4498, 4543, 4814.

That's all I got.

Re: How many Teams can you name?

I've tried this before and got to somewhere a little over 100, like some others who have posted.

It's too bad the mass of team numbers is so confusing, particularly to random spectators who are walking into an event without knowing anything about FRC.

We need Google Glass safety glasses - when you look at a bumper number, it looks up the team's bio and displays it on your glasses.

Re: How many Teams can you name?

I started to do this, then got sad at how many teams I was naming that no longer compete.
Also, to the OP: 47 is absolutely a number to be proud of. If it wasn't for 47, none of us would be here.

I hit 100 by starting at 1 and working up to team 1058. Decided to stop because I had more important things to do!

Ha yes, this was definitely inspired by ask reddit!

After looking through some of those lists I can't believe some of the teams that I forgot!

Justin, I could never forget 340.

Re: How many Teams can you name?

Google Doc list

I'm currently at 30 that I can pair name and number, with another 19 just names. Rather fewer than some others posters here.

My biases are toward Michigan, for obvious reasons.

Re: How many Teams can you name?

I can come up with >100 without even trying
http://highschoolnicknames.homestead.com/common.html

I bet there are at least:
12 eagles
10 tigers
8 panthers
8 bulldogs
etc...

In addition, you can add robo or robot to the front of these names and bots or robotics to the end of these names to get even more team names!
For example:
robot tigers
Pantherbots
robotic bulldogs

Doesn't really help with team numbers though...

Re: How many Teams can you name?

Put a 10 minute timer on and got 79. I was kind of disappointed, but I guess I had nothing sparking memories.

Also, I have almost no bias towards any kind of locality, which is strange. Teams that go to competitions that we do are very low - I should fix that.
