i picked the 3rd book. Sirus Black is just cool. he reminds me of Aragorn (as Strider the Ranger) from LotR.

Uh-oh... bell curve!

Have you noticed that the book ratings make a bell curve in chronological order? Ratings reach their peak at the third book and are now on their way down... I hope this doesn't mean the upcoming books will get progressively worse!

I plan to attend the local Border's Harry Potter Party on the night of the release. I shall be surrounded by either child/ adults of the children who were pleaded and begged by their kids to come out at that late hour to get the book, so they might be kinda peeved by some of the dedicated fans... and I'll be wearing my harry Potter blanket I got for my b-day (Thanks Ina!) as a cape! I can't wait.

We're going to camp outside Barnes and Nobles about an hour before closing. A large party is going to be there. It'll be great.

I've always told myself that I cannot decide (they are all so good) but I think that everyone I know generally agrees that the 3rd book is the best, mostly because of Black, Lupin, and dementors.

I think if there was a worldwide poll (is there?), Azkaban would win by a large margin.

I'm one of the people hixofthehood knows, but I've recently changed my mind. Azkaban was my favorite for almost 2 years now, but I just recently started preferring Goblet. Azkaban is more out and out fun, but the serious sides of some of Goblet's better stand out chapters (The Dark Mark, the chapter about Dumbledore's Pensieve, and everything in the book's climax) really put it over the top for me.
