Tighten them well enough and it's more than enough support. In fact our offseason bot only used the two outer bolts and the transmissions held on perfectly.

In the bottom, there's quite a bit of options. Do you know the difference between "WCP DS - Dual Speed Base Kit (217-3423)" and "West Coast Drive Version Base Kit (217-3424)"?

As you can see in the CAD I sent you, the West Coast Drive Version has room inside the gearbox for sprockets and pulleys. The Base Kit doesn't have extra room.
