This was an awesome event and it was great to have that statewide recognition of our sport.

Team 230 members have been eligible for varsity letters for about 10 years. Of course, it probably doesn't hurt that our head adviser is also the Shelton Athletic Director. Meaning that I believe that he knew the right people to work with to make it happen... and that we did not need to convince the athletics people that we were "worthy". It probably also helped that the band members were already receiving varsity letters as well. This can be a good leverage point for those trying to convince their school system.
