When I talk to non-robotics people about what we do, here's how I sum it up. Last year, we built a robot that played ultimate frisbee, with a twist. The year before, our robot played basketball, with a twist. And so on.

This year, I think I will be saying that our robot plays hockey. The twist might be that it uses a large (3' diameter?) ball instead of a puck. We will need to cooperate and pass frequently in order to score maximum points.

It will continue to follow the trend of making the game sports-based and spectator-friendly. Scoring will be simple and easy to keep track of for most spectators (not predicting that the score-tracking devices will always work, though).

That's my prediction.

I feel like it would probably be a smaller ball than 3'. That would be somewhat hard to pass/manage. Plus the goal would have to be rather large.
