Surgical Tubing vs Thera-Band Tubing

Our team is working on a shooter powered by surgical tubing. We have also been trying out Thera-Band Exercise Tubing, and we haven't found much of a difference between it and surgical tubing in terms of how far we've been able to throw the ball. (We are using the green medium-strength Thera-Band tubing).

We aren't far enough along yet to see if one is more durable than the other, which will probably be how we decide which to use. Does anyone have previous experience with the Thera-Band tubing who can give me some insight into its durability? Is there anything else that my team should be aware of in regard to Thera-Band tubing?
