Cannot Deploy to cRIO
I am unable to deploy code to my cRIO and I don't know why.
The following is what I have done: - I have my firewall disabled - I am on the same subnet as the cRIO and can successfully ping to 10.xx.yy.2 in less than 1 ms every time - I have my FIRST Downloader preferences to have the correct team number and OUT file - I have disabled every adapter besides my ethernet one connecting to the crio - I have built my project - I have my robot on - I have successfully re-imaged my cRIO and set it up with revision 52 - I rebooted the cRIO before trying to deploy - I rebooted my laptop to see if that was the problem; it wasn't The following is the nature of the problem: - I click on deploy and nothing happens. I don't get a bar, nor an error. Just nothing happens. - Same thing happens when I try to undeploy Important things to know: - I have Windows 8 (Don't know if it matters) - When I disconnect the CAT5 from my laptop and try to deploy code, an error does show up All and any help is appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: Cannot Deploy to cRIO
Hello,
Did you connect to the cRIO in the WindRiver interface? Are you able to "deploy" (run) temporary code without problem? Sure you tested this but just in case, have you rebooted the cRIO after deploying code? - Not sure about Windows 8... |

Re: Cannot Deploy to cRIO
Does the DriverStation say that there is communication? I also recommending using more than one laptop to trouble shoot with, find another laptop and see whether that can work with the cRIO. If not then I'd recommend reinstalling Windriver. Good luck, if it's any help. You seem to have completed all the steps. To upload code.
You are also a 3000 team, I believe if you have another cRIO, try uploading code to that one to see if it also works. |

Re: Cannot Deploy to cRIO
I have my driverstation on the same computer. I do have communication according to the driverstation. I am also able to ping to the cRIO in less than 1ms every time. The DriverStation says that there is "No Robot Code".
Later, I tried to just use simple FTP because that is what Windriver uses: specifically port 21. So, I found the FRC_UserProgram.OUT file or something like that, I forgot exactly what it's called, and I deleted it. Meanwhile, I transferred over my OUT file from my project to the cRIO and renamed that OUT file to FRC_UserProgram.OUT. After I did that, the DriverStation still said that there is "No Robot Code". After that, I installed Windriver on to my Windows 7 laptop. The exact same problem occurred. Thanks. |

Re: Cannot Deploy to cRIO
When you imaged the cRIO, did you tell it you wanted to use C++?
You said the Windows firewall is disabled. Might there be another program running (e.g. McAfee or Symantec) that is trying to protect you from malicious network activity? |

Re: Cannot Deploy to cRIO
Yes, I did image the cRIO to use Windriver C++.
My antivirus software does not control my firewall. Thanks. |

Re: Cannot Deploy to cRIO
lol, I knew something was funky with this problem because I had never had it before. The code didn't have the macro. Let that be a lesson to all.
Thanks to all who helped. |

Re: Cannot Deploy to cRIO
One of the things I saw that caused this for one of the new programmers on our team was that for some reason the computer had reset its IP4 back to 198... instead of the 10.xx.yy.05 with xxyy being your team# that you need to connect. Setting that as the ip and the subnet to 255.255.255.0 fixed it

Re: Cannot Deploy to cRIO
My team is having similar problems...
I have a question...in the previous post you mention "macro"..what does that refer to? The code builds fine and then we use the correct ".out" file...once we start the transfer the status bar pops up saying it is downloading and shows as completed, but when we bring up the driver station it says it is connected but there is no robot code. We took the previous adivce from above and made sure the CRIO was imaged for C++ |
