5102's 3D Printed Shooter Prototype
Here's a little teaser of the 3D printed shooter prototype that the 5102 students got working over the past few days. We may update this thread later on in the season with some pictures and CAD.
Quick notes, The 3D printed part is supporting all the forces of the mechanism and so far holding up a lot stronger than I expected it to. It was printed on a MakerBot Replicator 2. |

Re: 5102's 3D Printed Shooter Prototype
Here's the part on printer. Printed in .2mm layer height, 2 shell thickness, and 10% infill. This one actually broke after 5 shots, when we tried using more surgical tubing.
The one in the video was printed at .2mm layer height, 5 shell thickness, and 20% infill. So far that one has held up well. |

Re: 5102's 3D Printed Shooter Prototype
Just want to make sure we are all on the same page. The one in the video is 1 in diameter Delryn. We changed the prototype and the 3D printed piece would not fit. But it did however work. Just want to update you.
