I don't know of any rules saying that ONLY the items you stated can be on the robot...historically, however, the ruling has been(if I remember correctly) that you need to have, as a minimum, your team number and team/robot name...

i don't know about the rule but i fondly remember my teams load bearing stickers from last year...

Nobody ever asked why there were so many stickers of our logo on that corner of the robot.

You would think the sponsors would have the robot covered with their logos like a stock car. They are paying for it.

I don't see why not. Perhaps I am just ignorant, but to me it doesn't seem to hurt anyone if you have 30,000 stickers or whatever.

We don't really have a 'main' sponsor. I think we have $5k given to us from DuPont...but I'm pretty sure that's as big as it gets Every year we've put all our sponsors that give more than $500 (I think...maybe $1k) on our robot...I don't see why it would be different this year.

I hope our team puts a (even a small one) sticker of the STS-107 logo on our bot... I think it'd be cool if all of us could put a logo of it on our robot, like as a group effort kinda thing.

And you're not plastered in stickers? Seriously if we could get five HUNDRED dollars we'd add a pound of advertising for the sponsoship. Guess that's what we get for being a poor team...

I never said we weren't plastered in stickers We just don't have one giant sticker I think we have 5 sponsors on each side of our bot that has stickers...that would be 3 sides. This was last years bot...maybe it's gone up/down.

As many non-functional decorations as you would like, that fit within size, weight, safety rules.

Stickers count as non functional decorations.
Well.
Ianworld: got pictures of the load bearing stickers?

Perhaps because 30,000 stickers would be slightly cumbersome?

too lazy to find one that looks directly at it. but take a look here. On the front right hand corner of our robot.(to the right hand side of this picture) all of that blue plexiglass is held together with stickers. And that was just a few games into our first competition.

We're painting the rules of cricket onto our robot, so if you any of you are at the NYC regional, come and have a look and learn how to play a real sport.

Or maybe you know how to play, in which case you already know more than our national team, judging by their present performance...
