Raspberry Pi

Team 2537 is planning on using a Raspberry Pi on our robot for targeting.
The Raspberry Pi will have an ethernet connection to the radio/bridge on the robot.
Our camera and cRio will also be connected into the radio/bridge.
Is there any rule issues with this configuration?
We are aware of the bandwidth limitations and will account for that.

Re: Raspberry Pi

Your configuration is acceptable and does not break any rules.

The bandwidth limit is only in effect if you are sending data off board from the robot to the driverstation, there is no bandwidth limit on the local network between the robot and the camera from the D-link switch, so unless you plan to stream the images back to the DS, vice just sending strings back, you need not worry about the bandwidth limit.

Also be sure, if you do plan to send data off board to the DS you can only use certain socket ports as defined in the manual.

hope this helps,
Kevin

Thanks! Just trying to make sure our setup is legal.

Re: Raspberry Pi

We (Team 172) had just about the same setup last year, and it worked perfectly (Aside from the fact that our vision processing code wasn't the best). Good luck to you!
