No CompactRIO devices were found

our cRIO imaging tool is not finding our cRIO in our practice robot, it is using a cRIO I i believe and we tried hooking it up via ethernet cable and also we routed it through a wireless router to try to get it to work but we cannot figure out how we are using a lenovo thinkPad T60(i was told that we didnt need a crossover cable for it) any ideas?
