RobotBuilder Behaving Badly
My team has a number of new programmers and so I have them using RobotBuilder and Command based development. But we are having a LOT of issues with the jar. It refuses to run on some Windows 8 systems. Since the jar is run from command line Java and there is no command line in Windows 8 it is really hard to test. I posted to the FIRST / WPI forum and the only response was to uninstall Inventor which we are not using. On some of the Win 7 systems RobotBuilder loads and works the first instance and then will not run the if there is a save yml project file. The DOS window opens and then hangs.
I would appreciate any suggestions for getting more stability of RobotBuilder. I would post issues but it either works as described in the videos or just plain does not load - no errors, no runs, no hits. |

1. Press the windows key on your keyboard to get to the Start screen, type cmd, press enter. 2. Move your mouse to the bottom left corner of the desktop until the start screen picture shows, then right click and select "Command Prompt" or "Command Prompt (Admin) if you need an elevated command prompt. I'm not sure what the rest of the issue you're having is but this is how you can get to a command prompt. Their comment about uninstalling Inventory was due to a DLL conflict that it causes. If you don't have it installed then there is something else going on. Perhaps you can provide more details of what happens when you run it from the command prompt. |
