How are teams passing to other teams?

We have quite alot of our robot complete, and now we're trying to understand how other robots will be passing off the ball to each other. Are most of you guys launching the ball at a significant height and distance, or more of a pass on the ground? Please explain and other methods.

Our team sould be able to to a high aerial pass and a pass along the ground to other robots.

Re: How are teams passing to other teams?

Yeah same for us. Our arm can directly put the ball right infront of your robot with minimal movement, we can also shoot over the truss and catch the ball.

Re: How are teams passing to other teams?

All of the listed really. Our mechanism allows us to do all three. Our choice will depend on how the game is played and who our alliance partners are.

We are planning to put our intake motor in reverse to either roll the ball along the ground to another bot or to drop it into another one.

Re: How are teams passing to other teams?

Like the other answers posted, I can't really say, because our mechanism does all three. I expect that many other bots will fit this category.

Is there an option for "whatever your robot needs"?

Right--multiple passing modes are the order of the day!

Re: How are teams passing to other teams?

Same as all the above. Our team's robot can do the simple ground pass, aerial pass over the truss, and also we can directly drop the ball INTO another robot with our actuating catapult arm.

Hrm. We've got push, dump, fire, catch, fast-stop-without-seat-belt, and the infamous levitate.

Same here we can roll on the ground expel slowly at whatever angle is needed or shoot over the truss.

Re: How are teams passing to other teams?

What about the ability to "take" the ball from an alliance partner, with no action required on their part? (other than to sit still and allow it).

Re: How are teams passing to other teams?

Our two intake mechanisms replicate the low-goal geometry, as well as being able to pick up off of the floor. So we can receive and pass from ground, low-goal position, and on top of that our robot can become a rather large target for an ariel or truss pass.

Shoot, I made the poll pretty quickly without thinking of all the possible answers. Anyway I can still edit it? Also our team, 1448, is among the "we can do it all" crowd.
