Good material for el toro?

What's a good frictiony material for the el-toro-esque style intake?

I'm looking for something on McMaster-Carr if that's possible.

Blue Nitrile works really well for the balls this year, we are using it, and it grips extremely well.

The Kit of Parts included an 18" length of 3M's GM400 Grip tape. It seems to do a good job of not slipping on the game ball's cover.

According to the El Torro BOM they used McMaster part #86085K21 which we got some for another design and works very well gripping the ball, although rather expensive.

Wedge top tread also seems like a good option as it is pretty grippy on the ball. Also, if only need mcmastercarr parts:
A) large surgical tubing could work well either wrapped or just over the post
B) the mesh in kevans post
C) some of this neoprene- http://www.mcmaster.com/#9013K48 -it's nice and cheap

There also is polyurethane/silicone/neoprene tubing on McMaster which you guys could certainly give a try. It would be much easier to attach to aluminum tubing or whatever you might use. That way, you don't necessarily need to worry about adhesives or breaking through the material to attach. Plus it comes in many ODs and IDs if I recall correctly. Here's a link to the page as well. I can try to find out what we specifically used last year for our intake if that would help as well!

Wedgetop worked well for us. We tried surgical tubing over the post, and it might have been more effective if we had bigger diamater posts. I'm sure you guys will rock the design!

Tennis racquet grip has worked pretty well for us. We chose it because it is cheap and easy to procure. Our intake is an over the top roller though but it should still work with an el toro type intake.

In 2013 my team used Rescue tape on our intake roller to grab the frisbee, and it worked extremely well. It's a grippy silicone tape that sticks to itself and grips everything else- when wrapped tightly, it basically fuses into a single grippy roller. Sorbothane grips the balls well.

The lower duro versions grip better, but get dirty and lose grip faster.

Sorry poor wording, McMaster doesn't sell wedgetop- I just meant it could be the best cheapest option and then all three others could be bought from McMaster.

We also are currently in the search of a material to grip the ball, we started with some surgical tubing that was wrapped around the poles very tightly with not much success, we then went and wrapped the poles in some kind of fabric I believe its called Polyester/Vinyl Foam Mesh: http://www.mcmaster.com/#antislip-carpet-pads/=qkubq7
this worked well for the application we are using it in but we are continuing the search for another material such as some type of grip tape type material.

My team literally (and I actually mean literally) has over 200 feet with tons of different rolls and colors because we used/tried to use it for our conveyor belting in 2009- it is super grippy on the ball but may be too thin for el toro? Not sure
