Bumper Weight

SITUATION: Our catapult has a TON of moment on one point. This makes a portion of the robot airborne when it is released. If we could pack weight into the bumper, we can make our robot heavier, without making the robot heavier (that's more clear in my head).
QUESTION: How do I get my 8lb bumpers to weigh 20lbs?

Re: Bumper Weight

You can"t pack your bumpers with anything other than the materials allowed in the rules. So making your bumpers weigh more may actually be harder than just adding ballast.

Re: Bumper Weight

You are allowed to put metal angle on your top and bottom bumper face.

Most teams use aluminum, but for weight purposes, I suppose you could use steel angle instead.

Guess what's specified in the rules as aluminum angle if it's used?

Now, the bumper side of your attachment system could be steel--that's not specified. I don't think that'd be an issue.
