Zones where robots can't shoot (was: stupid question)

I was wondering if there is an area that we cant fire from and how big it is

You can't fire into the goals from the other side of the truss. Everything else is fair game.

So in autonomous mode I can make my bot go forward, touch the wall, and fire the ball in?

There are no rules prohibiting it, so unless the GDC says otherwise, you can.
