Pits and Machine Shop

Hi everyone,

I am a member of a rookie team in the Finger Lakes and had a quick question that I was hoping someone could answer. Once the Pits and Machine Shop close on Saturday, does your team have to be out of the venue with all equipment or will there be more time allowed for removal of pit contents?

Re: Pits and Machine Shop

I'm not sure about Finger Lakes in particular, but at the regionals I've attended, once the pits are closed, the staff begin to heard teams out as soon as they can. (Or, at Oklahoma, when the pits close, the velociraptors are released )

Re: Pits and Machine Shop

If Saturday is the last day of the event, you need to be outta there by the time the truck leaves with the field. The FTA will chase you out.

Generally speaking, on Fridays (qual day), you'll be chased out at pit closing time, with whatever gear you're taking with you. A few minutes extra? They just haven't gotten to you. On Saturdays (final day), your best bet is to pack up ASAP after your final final match with a small crew, bring everyone in after awards for cleanup, and get moving before the field is torn down, though they're a bit more lenient.

One thing to remember, particularly on Thursdays and Fridays: The volunteers have been there longer than you, and would like to get some rest too. We do appreciate y'all leavin' in a timely manner.

Re: Pits and Machine Shop

To emphasize: Once the pit closes, you're expected to be gone already.
Be respectful of the volunteers and get out.
