Smile Re: losing connection to cRIO over wifi

Are you connected on the 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz band ?

We run our stuff exclusively on 5.0 GHz. When we do demos and such many schools and malls have such 2.4G congestion you can't do anything.

We also use a dual-band N router connected with an ethernet cable to the driverstation. The robot is connected to the router via wifi. We give each band on the router a unique ID and have the bridge connect to the SSID for the 5GHz band. And we don't use the DS connecting the the bridge in AP mode.

With that setup, we never ever have problems. If you live on the farm you can do it the AP way but it isn't worth the trouble in other settings.

We never have a problem with this setup

How is your radio mounted? If hidden by metal, radio waves cannot get through.
