Re: Good material for el toro?
The top of the Versaplanetary Gearbox (I assume this is what you are looking for) is 10 in off the ground.
Just for additional information, the top of the appendage when deployed is ~22 in off the floor. 46 degree angle, measured today. We have surgical tubing tied between two eyelet bolts attached to the motors. Sorry I wasn't able to reply as quickly, we do not have meetings on Tuesdays. I can get measurements on how far apart the motors are Friday or earlier. |

Re: Good material for el toro?
Thank you very much! As I said earlier, I only ask because we are having trouble with ours. I suspect our problem is due to a lack of tension between the two poles. Can your el torro pick up balls without any robot movement?

Re: Good material for el toro?
Try bicycle grips used for mountain bikes. Another good product is water proof electrical tape.

Re: Good material for el toro?
We tried several things and found that the black foam insulation for copper piping makes an excellent covering. Its round sticky and rugged not to mention it can be purchased at any walmart or home improvement store.

Re: Good material for el toro?
We can pick up the ball as we are driving up to it. Just sitting there without any movement on the base does not pick it up.

Re: Good material for el toro?
Is anyone able to pick up the ball without moving the base?
