Robot Wireless not working

We are able to communicate from the driver station to the robot when tethered, but have no robot communication when connected wirelessly. We found a wireless network 335 (our team number) but when we connected to that network we still had no robot communication on the driver station. So we tried resetting the dlink and re-programming our radio via the instructions at http://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/...o-for-home-use but now the 335 network doesn't show up at all!

Any suggestions? We've tried pinging 10.3.35.1 and 10.3.35.5 and both give us the error "destination host unreachable"

Re: Robot Wireless not working

Make sure you set your wireless network connection to 10.3.35.9, and disable IPv6. and for good measures, make sure you disable the local area connection. Also, instead of pinging it you can try navigating to it in a browser by typing into the url 10.3.35.1 Finally, if it still doesn't work, reconfigure your d-link by hard resetting it via the button on the back (hold down for 30 seconds) then use the frc bridge configuration utility.

Re: Robot Wireless not working

Thanks for the help! We tried the above but still didn't see 335 network or have robot communication so we tried resetting the d-link but now we keep getting an error when we try to re-configure the bridge that says "Failed to configure IP Address"

Re: Robot Wireless not working

I'd say, reset the router to the default settings. I think it might need to be in AP mode. Once that is set up, you can try again!

That's your computer's IP address it's talking about. Are you logged on as a standard user rather than as an administrator? Is your Windows system set to a language something other than English?

Re: Robot Wireless not working

Also make sure that your wired connection is set to DHCP, that may or may not be an issue.

Re: Robot Wireless not working

It sounds to me like your driver station IP isn't set to 10.3.35.9.

In order for your computer to know how to reach an IP address like 10.3.35.2 (The cRIO), you have to be on the same subnet as the device. The D-link doesn't have a DHCP server so it won't assign you an IP address on the correct subnet.

To fix this you need manually set IP address of the driver station to a correct IP address like 10.3.35.9.
On the driver station go to the 'Network and Sharing Center.' Click change adapter settings. Right click the correct adapter (whatever your wireless card is) and click on 'properties.' Double click 'Internet Protocol Version 4.' Here is where you should set the ip to 10.3.35.9 and subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. You should leave the default gateway and DNS server empty.

If this doesn't work then double check connections between the radio and the cRIO. Re-imaging the radio couldn't hurt and trying to ping the cRIO is a good idea.

Re: Robot Wireless not working

One thing that hasn't been mentioned. On Windows 7, when you change your network adapter settings, you select the entry for IPv4, and select Properties. Then you put in the DS IP address and subnet mask. After that, click Advanced, and check the list off IP addresses. Make sure that the only one showing is the one you input. If there are any others, delete them. This fixed our problem which had similar symptoms.
Good Luck!
