Encoders to PWM

How do we wire these encoders to our robot? We are using a digital sidecar and all the PWM outputs are taken.

Re: Encoders to PWM

They connect to Digital Inputs (DIO) on the sidecar.

By pin number:
1. +5 VDC power -> 5v power
2. Quadrature A channel -> signal
3. Ground -> ground (-)
4. Quadrature B channel -> signal

Re: Encoders to PWM

Encoders actually get plugged into the digital i/o section of the digital sidecar. You should hook up the leads of the encoder to 2 3-pin connectors with one having A and ground and the other having B and power (or vice versa - the important thing is that A and B are on separate connectors). Put A and B on the signal pins and power and ground on the appropriate pins.
