Exclamation Not able to connect to the cRio

Hi all,
Im a Programmer from team 1732. Were trying to deploy code onto our robot through the computer for testing. In any time during the running as start up, the screen will display the message "Waiting for the cRio to respond." this pops up numerous times, and after minutes of waiting we just exit out of running as start up and try to re run. the only way for the code to be deployed is to reformat the cRio each time we add more code; and we really dont want to do that. any help would be great so we can test the functions of our robot.

Re: Not able to connect to the cRio

When trying to deploy code to our CRIO we found that changing the IP adress to something like 10.31.35.5 made it work.

Re: Not able to connect to the cRio

If your code is maxing out the CPU then you will probably need to get the code to stop.

You can use the No App switch.
On an 8-slot cRIO the No App switch is on the front of the cRIO.
On a 4-slot cRIO the No App switch must be set with the cRIO Imaging Tool.

After the switch is set, the cRIO must be reset (button on the cRIO or cycle the robot power.

Then try downloading your code.

Finally, turn the No App switch off and reset your cRIO once again to start your code running.

Re: Not able to connect to the cRio

We received code from one team and booted with the serial cable attached. It indicated that the 8-slot cRIO was running out of memory, leading to corruptions, leading the the refusal of the code on the cRIO to abort as requested.

I haven't been able to verify with the team, but I'll know more tomorrow when I see them at the regional. It is relatively easy to modify the list of libraries to load to reclaim additional memory.

So, if you are seeing this on an 8-slot, this may be involved.

Re: Not able to connect to the cRio

I suspect that once you fix the CPU at 100% problem, your download problems will go away.
