Re: [FTC]: Block Party - Top Scores

The highest score I saw was 540 at the Diamond State challenge in Dover, was quite the match, I think the most important part was the 50% bonus from the pendulum balance.
Our team was disappointed we didn't make it past the semi-finals, but it was impressive to see those teams duke it out in the last match.

Re: [FTC]: Block Party - Top Scores

That score was riddled with penalties, we're looking at making a change in the way the high-scoring match is calculated to not include penalty points so that the scores are purely points scored. Since we have that data, we're looking to do that.

How many points out of these 540 were penalties?

310 of those points were penalties. We're currently working on a new version where we will be using non-penalty scores to determine the highest scoring match along with having a view of each individual match where you'll be able to see the points scored and total points, where you'll be able to determine how many of those points were caused by a penalty. Unfortunately, the data we're getting (from the scoring software) does not have game-specific scoring information, but we're hoping to get that added in.

We also had an Elimination match in Wisconsin where our alliance partner was playing defense, but didn't realize that intentionally contacting the opponents pendulum resulted in a Major (50 point) penalty. They must have hit it 10 times. The official score didn't reflect penalties since we lost before penalties were applied. If they had applied them, the new record high score would have been at least 705! Kind of makes that particular stat irrelevant.

Ideally it would be nice to see stats for Qualification matches separated from Elimination matches. Things like Average Score, High Score, Win / Loss records.

That really shouldn't matter as the penalties should always be entered by the scorekeeper.

We ARE working on separating Qualification from Elimination as far as records go, high score already kind of has that because the rankings use the qualifying matches. We're looking into some other stats, I suggest if you have any major suggestions that you send them to feedback@ftcscouting.daviddellsperger.com That e-mails the dev team.

Re: [FTC]: Block Party - Top Scores

The last match in the finals at the Missouri State Competition with us (Team 5035) and The Bombers (Team 4211) had a 390 score with no penalties! We had a double-hang, filled the outer baskets to the brim, and I think we raised the flag to the top level too!

Is the highest score without penalties 396?

Our next competition will be at the North Super Regional at the beginning of April.

Can't wait to see all the teams there.

Re: [FTC]: Block Party - Top Scores

We did 359 at the NJ Championship last weekend, without penalties and without a double hang. We think we can easily hit 400 if we get a double hang. We didn't need it last weekend.

Thumbs up Re: [FTC]: Block Party - Top Scores

Based on what I have seen from the yellowalliance site and from our own Ohio state championship, teams will need to be scoring in the mid 300's to do well at the super regionals. Never estimate in a double to your score because of the difficulty and all of the rules surrounding them. I have seen robots specifically designed to lift another robot and they ended up nailing it once out of our 5 matches.
