Driver Station Automatic Disabling

Whenever I switch to a different window, a safety feature in the DS triggers the system to disable the robot. This is very annoying because I am using a separate application for vision processing, written in C++ with OpenCV, and it requires a bit of labor. I don't want the robot to disable in the middle of a match because I switched windows. How can I disable this feature?

Re: Driver Station Automatic Disabling

We have not noticed the behavior you are describing exactly. We are able to switch to other programs but the [Enter] key and the [SpaceBar] are still captured. This means hitting [SpaceBar] will E-Stop your robot and hitting [Enter] will disable you robot. This is very annoying if you program on the same laptop as your driver station. At any rate simple changing which window is active shouldn't be disabling the robot. Is it possible you are pressing [SpaceBar] or [Enter] ?

Re: Driver Station Automatic Disabling

The other post described it well. When not connected to the field, space and enter are used to estop and disable the robot. There is no turning that off.

When connected to the field -- when the FMS Connected string is present on the DS, only the F1 key will be honored. Enter and Space will no longer trigger anything to happen on your robot.
